“What’s Thad up to? Why’s the blog been so quiet?” you may be asking yourself. The one thing I ought to be doing, of course: writing. True Calling LitRPG Book 3: Unsung Sage is nearing completion, so it’s high time I gave an update.
Unsung Sage Blurb
First off, here’s the official teaser from the back cover.
“Is it always like this with you? Crazy fights against even crazier monsters? Mind-melting magic items? Whole world teetering on the brink of disaster?”
After Zack’s revelation, Ike leaves the party and travels alone, arriving at a ruined tower above the quiet mountain village of Glyncroes. He tells himself it’s to keep everyone safe, but can he even do this alone? How long will it take for his party to find him? Will a mask be enough to hide his identity? And why does everyone keep mistaking him for the Unsung Sage of myth?
Ike’s solitude is cut short by a miniature Vix and a cat folk shaman named Kit, who teaches him more about the mysterious power of his animus. Familiar faces abound, however, as True Calling forces Ike to confront the ghosts of his past, including an old enemy whose help he’ll need to find the next Sage Key.
The search will take Ike to Blightmyre, the cursed capital city in the Blighted Lands of Rilimar. Horrific demons, enthralled slaves, mournful specters, vampire warlocks, and their dark queen stand between him and the next piece of the puzzle. But will he be up to the challenge when he’s not even sure who he is anymore?
Unsung Sage Release Date
As things stand, I’ve got at least 15k words left to write and at least 30k left to edit. I also need to get the ball rolling on cover art and formatting. Assuming all of that goes well, I may be able to release the Kindle and print versions in late December 2022. If things don’t go as quickly as I’m hoping, January 2023 seems more likely.
Can’t wait? Want to read it for $1?
If you’re the impatient excited sort, I’ve been syndicating a chapter a week over on my Patreon. If you’ve read the first two books and want to read the third right away, it only costs $1 to become a patron. I’ll finish syndicating the whole thing and leave those chapters up until the Kindle release.
